Expanding Your Tile Vocabulary (Part II)
Not too long ago, we decided it was time to share some often-referenced technical terms relating to ceramic, porcelain, and natural stone tiles. Since you obviously couldn’t get enough of all that, we’re revisiting our tile glossary so you can expand your vocabulary and sound sharp and alert when you talk to your tile installers or sleazy customer service reps without sounding like an idiot. Making a Case for Grey Floor Tile
Given the increased popularity of wood-look porcelain tiles, off-the-wall designs, and linear aesthetics, many designers forget the wonderful possibilities available with the use of simple yet elegant grey floor tile. Ideal for both modern and contemporary designers, solidly colored grey tile is an exquisite way to bring class and sophistication to nearly any area within your living space. Matching well with grout lines, concealing accumulated dust, and extremely easy to keep clean, the neutral aspects of grey floor tile can fit in an array of décor schemes. All too often people discount the subtle aesthetics of this type of tile. We can’t tell you how many times we’ve heard people pejoratively refer to grey floor tile as prison chic, dull, or depressing. If anything, grey tile is quite the opposite of all these things.

Durable Marazzi Tile
BRING NATURAL AESTHETICS TO YOUR HOME OR COMMERCIAL SPACE Ever since Marazzi Tile opened its first manufacturing plant in the U.S. in 1982, the Italian ceramic and porcelain tile producer has rapidly expanded not only its products but also its technology. With ceramic and porcelain tile that ranges from travertine aesthetics to wood looks, Marazzi offers durable flooring that can withstand both residential and commercial applications. While several companies choose to install luxury vinyl tile or carpet in their buildings, those products do not necessarily last forever and carpet can easily stain. Ceramic and porcelain tile, on the other hand, is easy to clean, durable, and resistant to moisture and chemicals. Although it is more expensive than luxury vinyl tile and carpet initially, porcelain tile still remains the lowest-costing flooring material over the life of a building.
